Odd-frequency Cooper pair around a magnetic impurity

چکیده
The Yu-Shiba-Rusinov (YSR) state appears as a bound of quasiparticle at magnetic atom embedded in superconductor. We discuss why the YSR has energy below superconducting gap and pair potential changes sign atom. Although superconductor been considered breaker since 1960s, we propose an alternative physical picture to explain these reasons. analytical expression Green's function indicates that converts spin-singlet $s$-wave Cooper into odd-frequency pairs rather than breaking it pairing correlations coexist with states gap. relationships among free-energy density, amplitudes correlation functions, change impurity are discussed utilizing self-consistent solution Eilenberger equation. conclude happens only when dominant impurity. In presence local $\ensuremath{\pi}$-phase shift potential, can decrease density there because their response field is paramagnetic.

What Is a Cooper Pair?
Superconductivity and Fermi superfluidity have been subjects of increasing interest since their discovery. It seems as if nature wisely entangled Bose-Einstein (BE) condensation with these collective phenomena which are direct macroscopic manifestations of quantum physics. Recently, the nature of Cooper pairs in the BCS-BEC crossover has regained attention due to the observation of a large frac...
متن کاملLuminescence of a cooper pair.
This Letter theoretically discusses the photon emission spectra of a superconducting p-n junction. On the basis of the second order perturbation theory for electron-photon interaction, we show that the recombination of a Cooper pair with two p-type carriers causes enhancement of the luminescence intensity. The calculated results of photon emission spectra explain characteristic features of obse...
متن کاملCooper - Pair Tunneling : Counting Statistics and Frequency - Dependent Current Noise
We discuss the counting statistics and current noise associated with the double Josephson quasiparticle resonance point in a superconducting single electron transistor. The counting statistics are in general phase-dependent, despite the fact that the average current has no dependence on phase. Focusing on parameter regimes where the counting statistics have no phase-dependence, we use a general...

In a device with a superconductor coupled to two parallel quantum dots (QDs) the electrical tunability of the QD levels can be used to exploit nonclassical current correlations due to the splitting of Cooper pairs. We experimentally investigate the effect of a finite potential difference across one quantum dot on the conductance through the other completely grounded QD in a Cooper pair splitter...
متن کاملac Josephson effect and resonant Cooper pair tunneling emission of a single Cooper pair transistor.
We measure the high-frequency emission of a single Cooper pair transistor (SCPT) in the regime where transport is only due to tunneling of Cooper pairs. This is achieved by coupling on chip the SCPT to a superconductor-insulator-superconductor junction and by measuring the photon assisted tunneling current of quasiparticles across the junction. This technique allows a direct detection of the ac...
